Handyperson

ABM is seeking a reliable and skilled Handyperson to maintain the appearance, functionality, and safety of commercial office facilities. This position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and facility support tasks including carpentry, painting, basic electrical work, plumbing support, furniture assembly, and general building upkeep.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment while delivering exceptional customer service.

Pay: $24+

Responsibilities
  1. Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout office and commercial facilities.
  2. Complete minor carpentry projects, including furniture assembly, cabinet repairs, and fixture installation.
  3. Perform painting, patching, and cosmetic repairs to walls, ceilings, sidewalks, and other facility surfaces.
  4. Conduct basic repairs and troubleshooting of building equipment and appliances.
  5. Assist with furniture moves, office reconfigurations, and event setups.
  6. Support electrical, plumbing, and HVAC technicians with maintenance projects and repairs.
  7. Perform routine grounds maintenance and landscaping activities as needed.
  8. Identify maintenance concerns and report major repair needs to management.
  9. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  10. Respond to urgent maintenance requests and facility emergencies.
  11. Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience in general building maintenance, facilities maintenance, handyman services, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and facility repair practices.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Basic computer skills for work orders, communication, and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred

  • Experience maintaining commercial office buildings or corporate facilities.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
  • Trades-related certifications or technical training.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent use of hands for operating tools and equipment.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with assistance.
  • Ability to safely navigate ladders, stairs, and elevated work areas as required.
  • Sufficient hearing, vision, and mobility to perform maintenance and repair tasks safely.
