Fund Accounting Project Manager
Our client, a top-tier management consulting company, has partnered with a private equity client that is undergoing a key operational transformation - transitioning their growth equity funds from internally managed accounting to a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) model. They're seeking a hands-on Fund Accounting Project Manager to lead and support this conversion effort, ensuring seamless transition, documentation, and process optimization.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Lead or support the TPA conversion project for growth equity funds
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors to coordinate timelines, handoffs, and deliverables
- Work closely with the TPA provider, documenting requirements, testing data flows, and validating outputs
- Draft and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process maps, and workflow documentation
- Oversee or support fund accounting processes during and post-transition to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Use SEI and Geneva Fund Accounting Systems to assist in data validation, reporting, and reconciliation
- Support change management efforts and operational risk mitigation
- 6–10 years of experience in fund accounting, middle/back office operations, or project management within financial services or private equity
- Hands-on experience with TPA conversions – ideally in a private equity or alternative investments context
- Familiarity with SEI and Geneva Fund Accounting platforms
- Strong understanding of fund structures, NAV calculations, and reporting requirements
- Proven ability to document and streamline processes: SOPs, handoffs, RACI, process flows
- Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
