    Department ATHLETICS (BA-ATHL-IUBLA)Job Summary Department Specific ResponsibilitiesOversees day-to-day equipment inventory and equipment room operations for IU Athletics.Receives, logs, stores, issues, delivers, and tracks athletic equipment, apparel, mail, and related assets for assigned sport programs and department areas.May coordinate student or part-time staff in support of equipment room, inventory, laundry, and event operations.General ResponsibilitiesManages day-to-day Athletics equipment room shipping, receiving, inventory, storage, issue, return, and delivery operations, including equipment, apparel, packages, mail, and related assets for assigned varsity sports and department areas.Monitors the lifecycle of athletic equipment, apparel, and department assets and coordinates directly with coaches, staff, and department constituents to support appropriate issue, return, repair, replacement, retirement, or disposition of equipment. Provides reporting to management on equipment and asset status and ensures the accuracy and integrity of inventory and issue data.Inputs receiving, delivery, issue, return, and inventory information into department tracking systems and computerized inventory records; scans and attaches packing slips and related documentation to purchase orders as required.Receives, tags, stores, issues, returns, retires, scans for annual physical inventory, and delivers department-related capital assets, athletic equipment, apparel, and related supplies.Provides process improvement suggestions for equipment room operations, inventory controls, receiving workflows, storage organization, issue/return procedures, and customer service to assigned sport programs.Tracks equipment issue, loan, return, lost/stolen, and billing documentation to ensure completion in a timely manner and within department, NCAA, Big Ten, and Athletics guidelines. Keeps equipment rooms, storage rooms, and related work areas clean, organized, secure, and in good working order.Qualifications Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. It involves remaining in a stationary position for long periods of time as well as moving around the work environment. The position requires moving and assembling objects and placing objects on high and low shelving units and storage racks. The role requires the ability to detect details of objects and the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
