Electronic Toll Accountant IV Lead / Turnpike Enterprise / Tolls Financial Services

This position will manage weekly and monthly financial processing for toll revenues, fees, interoperability settlements, parking activity, and payment card transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliations and proper approvals. It supports accounting controls, leads SunPass Accounting in the manager's absence, responds to auditors, and assists with requirements gathering and testing for new projects. The position also monitors KPIs to ensure vendors and partners complete required reporting and reconciliations.

Your specific responsibilities:

• Prepares and processes the weekly wire transfer for toll transactions and fees for all agencies.
• Reviews and reconciles all revenue distribution reports received from customer account system and third-party vendor, prepares all book transfers, and submits all notifications to agencies and departments.
• Prepares all book transfers for allocable fees and transponder sales.
• Performs analysis of data to monitor trends and identify potential issues.
• Reviews weekly and monthly interoperability settlement reports.
• Serves as backup to review and reconcile weekly interoperability reports with other governmental and private sector entities.
• Serves as backup to prepare and process weekly and monthly wire transfers for current as well as future interoperability partners including preparing all book transfers and submitting all notifications to agencies and departments.
• Reviews and reconciles customer account system reports for daily and weekly parking activity.
• Reviews parking credits to ensure proper approval was received.
• Prepares report of approved parking credits for weekly wire package and follows up with Commercial Back Office (CBO) third-party vendor to obtain missing approvals.
• Reconciles all monthly payment card invoices to back-office data to ensure accuracy.
• Completes monthly reconciliation of payment card invoices and prepares payment card fee true-up for agency wires.
• Reviews, analyzes, and finalizes monthly sales tax report for wire transfer.
• Assist the Accounting Manager in monitoring accounting controls of the customer account system and ensuring appropriate business rules and policies are being followed.
• Leads all areas of SunPass Accounting in the Accounting Manager's absence including monitoring staff and their deliverables.
• Completes external auditors' requests and answers questions concerning wire distribution reconciliations.
• Participates in requirement gathering meetings, identifies reporting requirements, and participates in testing for new projects, such as future interoperability partners and HUBS, system enhancements/change orders, unclaimed property reporting, write-off reporting, as well as other future projects that may occur which will impact the SunPass Accounting Department, reconciliation process and/or cash receipts.
• Monitors and tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure CBO and third-party vendors complete all required work, reconciliations, and reporting.

The successful candidate will have the following required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Knowledge of: Accounting principles, practices, and procedures in electronic toll collection.
• Skills in: The use of applications such as accounting systems, spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
• Ability to: Perform reconciliation and general ledger analysis. Prepare and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and reports. Prepare and maintain a variety of financial workpapers. Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program. Plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Perform duties under pressure and time constraints. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Work independently. Utilize problem-solving concepts and find solutions. Guide and direct State and consultant staff.
