    Description

    Job Title

    This is a multi-functional position; the person is responsible for multi-functional following all processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely invoicing within the confines of specified deadlines. Research and analyze using facts and data to ensure accurate invoice production, application of rates and prices for company revenue transactions while adhering to company and railroad industry accounting rules and standards. In addition, this person will work to build relationships and liaison between Sales & Marketing, External & Internal Customers, Regional staff, Operations and Crew.

    Responsibilities

    Collaborate with various departments and regional staff to ensure accurate data is captured within our systems to maximize revenue and minimize expense exposure

    Conduct audits of waybills confirming accurate capture of revenue and expenses associated with the maneuvers of the operations of the railroad.

    Advise and provide remedial recommendations to other departments when waybill, equipment movement history and/or rate discrepancies are identified

    Maintains customer accounts including investigation of payment discrepancies.

    Investigates unrated transactions in ISS and communicate with internal teams for resolution

    Ability to interpret and understand railroad contracts related to application of rates

    Cross training with Commercial Support to assist in the TMS charge code maintenance.

    Monitors for proper funds settlement with other railroads.

    Assists in the closing procedures of monthly revenue accounts.

    Performs other tasks as directed, including special projects

    Required Skills and/or Experience

    Strong oral and written communication skills

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    Strong computer skills, with emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

    Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy

    Ability to quickly learn PowerBI, CRM, Advance Analytics, and other data related tools

    Experience with pricing, tariffs, commercial regulations, and marketing

    In-depth understanding of interline settlement (ISS) and railroad accounting rules & procedures

    TMS, and RMS or similar systems experience highly preferred

    Knowledge or use of Rate EDI Network (REN), RailConnect Contract Management (RCM) Exceptional organizational skills

    Knowledge of D365 a plus

    Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple activities to meet deadlines

    Required Education and/or Credentials

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred
