This role ensures adherence to U.S. Customs regulations (CBP) and international trade laws, optimizes duty spend, and supports supply chain efficiency through proactive shipment management and compliance governance.Compliance & Import / Export SpecialistKey ResponsibilitiesPerform HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification and Schedule B coding to ensure accurate import/export declarations and complianceMonitor tariff changes, trade regulations, duty rates, and communicate impacts to stakeholdersManage trade compliance activities aligned with CBP requirements, including Importer Security Filing (ISF)Administer and support CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program compliance and validationAnalyze Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and USMCA eligibility to reduce duties and optimize landed costPrepare, review, and maintain import/export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, AES filings, certificates of origin)Coordinate with freight forwarders, NVOCCs, carriers, customs brokers, drayage providers, and 3PL partnersTrack inbound and outbound international shipments, ensuring on-time delivery and exception managementResolve customs holds, delays, and compliance issues through root cause analysis and corrective actionMaintain and analyze shipment data, logistics KPIs, and reporting for continuous improvementSupport carrier sourcing, RFPs, and contract negotiations using logistics analytics and cost modelingAssist with Duty Drawback claims processing and audit supportEnsure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations (CBP, EAR, ITAR awareness preferred)Support hazardous materials and dangerous goods compliance (IATA, DOT, IMDG)Develop and implement SOPs, process improvements, and internal compliance controlsRequired Skills/QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Global Logistics, International Trade, or related field2+ years of experience in import/export operations, trade compliance, or global logisticsStrong knowledge of HTS classification, Schedule B, AES filings, and CBP regulationsExperience with Free Trade Agreements (USMCA preferred)Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations (IATA, DOT, IMDG) preferredExperience working with ERP, TMS, WMS, or Global Trade Management (GTM) systems preferredAdvanced Microsoft 365 skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced supply chain environmentExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsThis position does not offer work-from-home.
