Cashier/Prep Cook- Private Day School

SAGE Dining Services® is seeking a full-time, motivated Cashier with high energy and a positive attitude. A cashier is a customer-facing professional responsible for processing payments, scanning goods, and providing excellent service at checkout. As a cashier, you will also have the opportunity to assist with some preparation of cold foods and learn some basic kitchen techniques. A Prep Cook supports the kitchen team by washing, chopping, and measuring ingredients. They ensure workstations are stocked and sanitized, proper food safety standards are met, and kitchens run efficiently before and during service. Here you will be a part of the community we have built with the students, faculty and staff at a historic private school accessible to public transportation in the Providence, RI area!

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
• Available overtime for catering events with advanced notice
• This position starts August 20, 2026.

Pay Type:

$16.00 - $17.00 Hourly

Must work catering events:

Some of the time

• Cheerfully and efficiently expedite and process guest purchases, collect funds, and accurately record transactions.
• Set up, stock, clean, and maintain the servery and dining hall.
• Interact cheerfully with SAGE guests and provide service with a smile.
• Set up, clean, restock, and replenish serving lines and stations.
• Adhere to SAGE's safety and allergy prevention policies.
• Assist in training new Team Members.
• Adapt to additional duties as assigned by management.
• Record all transactions in the cash register system.
• Jump in and help team members as needed

• Cashier experience preferred.
• Ability to keep stations stocked with supplies, product, and service ware.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service with a positive demeanor required.
• Great communication skills preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills preferred.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to lift 30 lbs
• Ability to be on your feet for long periods
• Must be able to pass a BCI check
