Billing Specialist (Transportation & Logistics)

Location: Gainesville, GA (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Pay Rate: Up to $19.50/hr

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our transportation and logistics team. In this role, you will review carrier freight bills, identify and resolve billing discrepancies, coordinate with carriers and internal departments, and ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, analyze, and process carrier freight bills for accuracy.
  • Identify duplicate invoices, billing discrepancies, and missing documentation.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers to obtain required documentation for customer billing.
  • Communicate with internal departments to resolve issues delaying customer invoicing.
  • Work closely with internal and external partners to resolve billing inquiries promptly.
  • Facilitate accurate and timely billing of customer orders.
  • Maintain high levels of customer service while meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Assist with billing reconciliation and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop a working knowledge of internal billing systems and transportation processes.
  • Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Transportation or Logistics
    • Freight Billing
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Freight Audit
    • Load Planning
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience with transportation carriers, freight invoices, or logistics billing.
  • Experience supporting transportation or supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of freight documentation and carrier billing processes.
