Provides detailed information to communicate design to customers, Haynes Mechanical field installation team and subcontractors.The Tech II serves as the technical resource for Controls Technician I. Controls Technician II will also be required to perform functions of preventive maintenance agreements and participate in the on‑call rotation.RequirementsMinimum of 5 years HVAC Controls database integrations and sub‑system experienceNiagara certification preferred, with 5+ years of related experience (additional certifications helpful)Strong working experience and knowledge of general construction industry with a focus on HVAC systems (Boilers, Chillers, RTU's, AHU's, and VAV's) and building automation controlMust understand controls strategies and have the ability to configure and commission building automation controls based on design and company standardsMust understand communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, and Lon) with the ability to troubleshoot said protocolsStrong understanding of control circuitry and wiring diagramsStrong understanding and troubleshooting inputs/outputs, networks, and communication on end devicesStrong PC skills requiredAbility to communicate technical material to a non‑technical audienceMust possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving recordEssential Duties And ResponsibilitiesAccountable to Team Leader and field teams for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs; participates in engineering release meeting with project field teamResponsible for total system point‑to‑point operation and commissioningTroubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operationControls Technician II will be required to work with multiple control devices and/or third‑party devices into NiagaraPerforms static (stand‑alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) software programming independently with support from Team LeadAbility to configure customer operator workstations and all required software (such as integration device data, trends, history, alarms, and graphics)Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multimeters, network terminals, and/or a laptop computerReviews customers' systems and points out other areas of improvement and keeps management apprised of customer concerns and issuesCompletes all required commissioning documentation and provides accurate information for as‑built documentationPerforms site‑specific training for owner/operator on the total system and assists with turnover to serviceConducts self‑study (reading, research, and practice) to improve technical proficiency (software/hardware) in the company's product linesCommunicates with Haynes Mechanical System's Team Lead, Supervisors, Project Manager, and/or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site on progressCommunicates effectively with the general or mechanical contractor, consultants, architect engineers and other sub‑contractors as requiredAdheres to safety standards and has a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safetyOther job duties may be assigned that are not set forth in the job descriptionPhysical Demands And Work EnvironmentAble to lift 75 lbs from floor to waist with possible repetitionAble to lift 50 lbs from shoulder to overheadAble to work with both arms above head for minimum of 5 minutesAble to carry 50 lbs for a distance of 25 feetAble to push or pull 125 lbs for a distance of 150 feetAble to climb stairs and laddersAble to carry 30 lbs while climbing stairs or a ladderOwning and operating hand tools – such as multimeters, basic hand tools, power tools, and label makers, specialty tools will be provided at the discretion of the companyAble to grip and operate hand tools, power tools and safety equipment, such as chain fallsAble to lift legs and step over obstacles up to 19 inches above the groundAble to perform work while in varying physical positions, such as lying on side, in a kneeling position, while standing on a ladderAble to access rooftop units and work at heights and in some cases tight or enclosed spacesAble to wear a respirator if conditions require; may have exposure to potentially harmful chemicals or materialsAble to crawl for a distance of 25 feetAble to stoop, squat or kneel for up to 10 minutes at a timeVisionCorrectable to 20/20 with no color blindnessHearingCorrectable to normal rangeCompensation$35‑$45/hour starting payHaynes Mechanical is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering an inclusive and dynamic work environment.Service Tech, Building Automation#J-18808-Ljbffr
