maintain and utilize payroll system to ensure accurate inputs, adjustments, and projectionsEnsure compliance with Giant programs and policies as well as local, state and federal food, labor and safety regulationsOversee and lead operational team, including department managers and associatesExpose part-time associates, department managers, and other management candidates to other skill areas; identify team leaders and promising internal candidatesConduct store tours to evaluate store conditions vs standards and respond accordinglyCollaborate with store management and assist with all aspects of total store operations including: customer service, associate development, sales, profit, payroll, and productivity goals, store standards, and moreDevelop a positive customer shopping experience and ensure customer satisfactionEnsure overall store appearance, safety and customer experience upholds Giant Food standards and regulationsRespond to customer inquiries on merchandise and make appropriate recommendationsEnsure accuracy of store signageUphold Giant's customer service standards: "Count on Us, Count on Me" commitments including: greet and thank every customer with a smile, wear a clean uniform and name badge, give customers undivided attention, bag and package product with care, demonstrate urgency in reacting to long lines, apologize and make it right or escalate as neededAs a Customer Service Manager, manage daily operations of the Front End & Customer Service areas and hiring and developmentManage associate time & attendance records, absentee/tardiness control programs, and labor law complianceEngage store associates and department managers to meet store and company goalsTrain and develop Front End and Assistant Front End Managers; cover front-end cash accountability and monitor shrink areasSupervise store operations as needed in absence of Store ManagerReview front end schedules prior to postingManage store community relations programsAs a Non-Perishable Manager, manage daily operations of Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, HBC/GM, and Receiving departmentsEnsure training & development of all related associates; review schedules to ensure proper training opportunitiesEnsure accuracy of all receiving, monitor back room organization and sanitation, ensure 100% compliance on store stamps/logs and monitor shrinkDevelop working relationship with all direct vendors; understand delivery days and times of all direct vendorsParticipate in planning, implementation and follow up of weekly sales programsManage inventories, gross profit, profitability, P&L and cost center managementPerform inventory control to avoid overstock and out of stockManage product storage and rotation to reduce spoilage and damageEnsure grocery shelves, cases and fixtures are maintained, cleaned and organizedAs a Perishable Manager, manage daily operations of Meat, Seafood, Deli, Produce, Floral and Bakery departmentsEnsure training & development of all related associates; review schedules to ensure proper training opportunitiesParticipate in planning, implementation and follow up of weekly sales programsEnsure accuracy of all receiving, monitor back room organization and sanitation, ensure 100% compliance on store stamps/logs and monitor shrinkDevelop working relationship with all direct vendors;
