Assistant Learning Specialist and Tutor CoordinatorThe Assistant Learning Specialist and Tutor Coordinator plays an important role in supporting the academic success of San Diego State University student-athletes through individualized academic support and comprehensive tutoring services. Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Student-Athlete Support Services, this position coordinates the Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) tutor program while providing one-on-one academic support to a designated caseload of at‑risk student-athletes. The incumbent works collaboratively with academic advisors, learning specialists, faculty, and campus partners to connect student-athletes with academic resources, develop effective study strategies, and foster independent learning. The department supports 18 sport programs and approximately 450 student-athletes.Education and ExperienceTypical requirement: one year of professional Student Services experience at entry or trainee level, or equivalent graduate‑level education. A four‑year bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences, public or business administration, or a related field is preferred.
