    Position: High School Biology Teacher Reports To: Richard Cameron Work Year Days: 2026-2027 School Year Work Hours: Full School Day Educational/Training/Experience/License Required:

    • DESE Massachusetts educator license in Biology(Grades 9-12) required.
    • Strong content knowledge in biology, including cell biology, genetics, ecology, and human body systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate high school students in scientific inquiry.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
    • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
    • Experience with differentiated instruction, lab-based learning, and technology integration, differentiated instruction and technology integration.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging biology instruction aligned with Massachusetts Science and Technology/Engineering Curriculum Frameworks.
    • Design and implement laboratory investigations and hands-on learning experiences.
    • Develop and administer assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
    • Integrate instructional technology and data analysis tools to enhance student learning.
    • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues.
    • Participate in department meetings, school initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
    • Ensure a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
    • Contribute to the school community through extracurricular activities and events as appropriate.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree
    • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
    • Must successfully pass a CORI background check and fingerprinting as required by Massachusetts law.

This role requires a commitment to creating an inclusive, student-centered classroom environment that supports the diverse needs of all learners. Experience teaching high school biology. Familiarity with Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and NGSS-aligned practices. Background in Advanced Placement (AP) Biology or related coursework.
