Here, your ideas matter, your voice is heard, and your growth is supported through hands-on experience and close teamwork.Role OverviewThe Materials Specialist is a critical operational role within Heven AeroTech's Logistics Department, responsible for the accurate and timely management of materials, components, and supplies that support production, assembly, and program delivery.Reporting directly to the Director of Logistics, this individual will coordinate the end-to-end materials lifecycle—from procurement support and receiving through inventory control, kitting, and issuance to manufacturing and engineering teams.This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who takes ownership of their work ( hungry ), collaborates effectively across teams ( humble ), and exercises sound judgment in managing materials in a regulated environment ( smart ). The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with aerospace or defense supply chains and a strong commitment to maintaining material integrity and traceability.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate inventory records in ERP/MRP systems, ensuring real-time visibility of stock levels, locations, and statusConduct cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation activities to ensure data integrityIdentify, investigate, and escalate discrepancies, shortages, or excess inventory conditionsManage shelf-life, serialized, and lot-controlled materials in accordance with quality and regulatory requirementsProcess inbound shipments by verifying quantities, part numbers, and documentation against purchase ordersCoordinate with Quality Assurance on incoming inspection and properly segregate non-conforming materialsAccurately log receiving transactions and maintain associated records (packing lists, certifications, COCs)Pick, kit, and stage materials for production work orders, ensuring accuracy and on-time deliveryCollaborate with Manufacturing and Program teams to anticipate and meet material needsReturn unused or surplus materials to stock and process system transactions accordinglyPrepare outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, documentation, and carrier coordinationEnsure compliance with ITAR/EAR export control requirementsMaintain accurate shipping records and communicate status updates to stakeholdersSupport procurement activities by communicating requirements, lead times, and delivery statusAssist in resolving supplier issues, discrepancy reports (DRs), and return-to-vendor (RTV) actionsAdhere to AS9100, FAA, and internal Quality Management System (QMS) requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free workspaceProactively identify opportunities to improve materials flow, reduce waste, and enhance efficiencyRequired Qualifications:RequiredAssociate's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant materials/logistics experienceMinimum 2 years of experience in materials, warehouse, or supply chain (aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing preferred)Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, IFS) and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with serialized and lot-controlled parts and traceability documentationAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and purchase ordersWorking knowledge of ITAR/EAR export compliance requirementsForklift certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hireStrong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple prioritiesPreferredBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related fieldExperience supporting AS9100-certified or FAA-regulated environmentsAPICS CPIM or similar certificationFamiliarity with UAS, propulsion systems, or avionics componentsExperience with Lean/5S practicesPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs unassisted; team-lift for heavier itemsAbility to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods in a warehouse or production environmentComfortable working in shop floor conditions, including noise, temperature variation, and handling materials with appropriate PPEAbility to maintain focus and accuracy in a fast-paced, operational settingOccasional overtime, including weekends, may be required to support program milestonesBenefits Overview:Heven AeroTech offers a competitive benefits package designed to support the health, financial security, and overall well-being of our employees and their families.
