The Best Teams are Created and Maintained Here.Job Summary- The AP/AR Specialist ensures timely accurate payment applications and invoices are processed and paid according to our Company policy and that any problems or questions relating to AP/AR are resolved or answered.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Review invoices for correct vendor, remit address, invoice number and payment amount.
- Maintain positive relationships with company vendors and branches.
- Apply lockbox and electronic payment receipts to AR invoices and GL accounts
- Maintain accurate records of all applications and requests
- Work with branch offices to resolve unapplied cash and credit balances
- Work with branch offices to process customer refunds
- Process write-offs
- Maintain positive relationships with branch offices and customers
- Prepare timely month-end closing activities
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively to provide quality seamless customer service
Education and Experience:- Minimum 1 year of experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction or landscaping industry
- Accounts payable processing skills
- Understanding of debits and credits
- Strong data entry skills, reconciliation capabilities and a knack for numbers
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
- Experience producing error free and accurate work.
- Strong work ethic
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of JD Edwards software a plus
Physical Demands/Requirements:- Constant operation of a computer and other office equipment, such as a laptop, a cell phone, and printers/copiers
- Position is sedentary; must be able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of time.
- Operates in an office environment and requires in-person presence.
- Ability to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any known allergic reactions should they occur.
Work Environment:- Work is conducted in a professional office environment, with a collaborative and dynamic team setting and requires in-person presence.
