Responsibilities for the Academic Coordinator include but are not limited to:Developing and implementing programs, services, and activities for supporting and monitoring academic progress toward degree for students in assigned sports facilitating and arranging academic support servicesAssisting in the recruiting process of student athletesCommunicating academic information and concerns to coaches/athletic administratorsCollaborating with other staff members both inside and outside of ASPSA to support studentsServing on or leading unit committeesTeaching an introductory to the university courseAcademic Advising & Student SupportOversee structured academic support plans for assigned teamsServe as primary academic advisor for Exploratory Studies student-athletes on assigned teamsMonitor academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes on assigned teamsMeet weekly with freshmen and at-risk student-athletesTeach seminar courses for first-year student-athletesInterpret and implement NCAA, NC State, and ASPSA policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with academic eligibility requirementsCommunicate academic information and concerns to coaches and athletic administrators through meetings, email, and written reportsMeet virtually or in person with prospective student-athletes during the recruiting processActively participate in ASPSA committee workAttend campus professional development opportunitiesEvening & Weekend ResponsibilitiesParticipate in required evening and weekend work to support student-athletes, recruiting, academic programming, and department initiativesMinimum EducationMaster's Degree required2-4 years of experience advising student-athletes at the university levelOther Required QualificationsExperience working with a culturally varied populationStrong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulationsStrong written communication skillsAbility to work independently and as a part of a high-functioning team#J-18808-Ljbffr
