    We are recruiting a Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) for a growing national hospice provider's Philadelphia, PA branch.
    This is a hands-on clinical leadership opportunity for an experienced hospice nurse leader who knows the Philadelphia market and is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care. You will lead the clinical team, oversee patient care delivery, support regulatory compliance, and help ensure a strong clinical foundation for a growing hospice operation.

    Position Summary
    The Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) will provide clinical leadership and oversight for a growing hospice branch in Philadelphia. This role is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate hospice care while maintaining clinical standards, regulatory compliance, documentation requirements, and effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
    The ideal candidate is an experienced hospice clinical leader who can provide direction and support to the nursing and interdisciplinary teams, ensure patients and families receive exceptional care, and maintain a strong culture of clinical accountability.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide clinical leadership and oversight for hospice patient care services.
    • Supervise, support, coach, and develop the clinical team.
    • Ensure patients receive safe, compassionate, and high-quality hospice care based on their individual needs and plans of care.
    • Oversee nursing services and collaborate effectively with social work, chaplaincy, home health aides, intake, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
    • Ensure compliance with hospice Conditions of Participation, state regulations, organizational policies, and clinical standards.
    • Monitor clinical documentation, patient care plans, assessments, and other required clinical records for accuracy and compliance.
    • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain readiness for regulatory surveys, audits, and other compliance reviews.
    • Support effective communication and coordination among the interdisciplinary team.
    • Provide clinical guidance and support for complex patient and family care situations.
    • Monitor patient care outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
    • Ensure appropriate staffing, scheduling, and clinical coverage to support patient needs.
    • Collaborate with branch leadership and other departments to support effective patient care and service delivery.
    • Serve as a visible and hands-on clinical leader within the Philadelphia hospice community.

    Qualifications

    • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
    • Significant hospice clinical experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
    • Current or recent experience as a DPCS, Director of Nursing or Clinical Director, with strong clinical responsibilities, or comparable hospice clinical leader.
    • Strong knowledge of hospice clinical operations, interdisciplinary team practices, documentation requirements, and regulatory standards.
    • Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop clinical staff.
    • Experience overseeing quality of care, compliance, and clinical outcomes in a hospice setting.
    • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to effectively manage complex patient care situations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
    • Hospice experience in the Philadelphia, PA market is strongly preferred.
    • Pennsylvania RN licensure requirements will be confirmed during the interview process.
