    Job Description

    The Robotics and Autonomous Systems Division at the Institute for Infocomm Research, A*STAR, Singapore, invites applications for a research scientist position. We are seeking candidates with passion to conduct R&D in Embodied AI with focus on developing novel architecture and model to allow for fast actions and reactions approaches based on Robotic Foundation Model or Multimodal Action model.

    The successful candidate(s) job scope would include research and development of novel architecture or model, collaborating with other researchers to conduct simulation and actual data collection and testing and system integration into an actual robot for testing, evaluation and performance benchmarking as well as working with other stakeholders and securing collaboration and future R&D projects that allow for translation or adoption of the developed solution(s).

    Job requirements:

    • PhD in Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Science/Engineering, Machine Learning, or related fields.
    • Strong background and research experience in Robotics control, Reinforcement Learning, hybrid control, Robotics Foundation Model or related research with good publication track record.
    • Strong software development skills in C/C++, Python, PyTorch.
    • Good knowledge of ROS (Robot Operating System), Linux and tools relevant to Foundation Model development, training and inference.
    • Experience in integrating solution in an actual robotics system.
    • Good communication and collaboration skills, proactive, taking ownership, passionate in robotics, and resourceful.
