Hyatt Corporation opened its first hotel in Los Angeles, California on September 27, 1957. Today, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts operate around the world under the Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, and Park Hyatt brands.

Hyatt specializes in deluxe hotels with meeting facilities and special services for the business traveler, operates hotels in major and secondary cities, airport locations, and leading resort areas throughout the world. In many cities Hyatt has made a significant contribution to revitalizing the area and spurring business and population growth. Hyatt Hotels & Resorts have a reputation not only for their physical distinctiveness, incorporating local art and design, but also for the amenities and services provided. These special services include Hyatt Gold Passport, Hyatt's renowned recognition and award program for the frequent traveler; Regency Club and Grand Club, VIP concierge floors; complimentary morning newspaper; specialty restaurants; and custom catering.

Benefits for Hyatt Employees
Hyatt Hotels and Resorts offer comprehensive and competitive benefits for all of its employees. The following list is a highlight of some of the benefits Hyatt offers, however, based on the plans you choose, your benefits will vary. Medical and Dental Insurance The Hyatt Medical Plan is designed to provide Hyatt employees with the opportunity to obtain comprehensive and quality health care services at a reasonable cost utilizing a large network of doctors, hospitals and specialists. In addition to our health plan, Hyatt employees and their eligible dependents or domestic partner can save money on prescription drugs through the Hyatt Prescription Drug Program. The Hyatt Dental Plan encourages employees and their eligible dependents or domestic partner to keep their teeth healthy by sharing in the payment of dental expenses. Employees have the option of visiting an in-network or out-of-network dentist; benefits under each plan vary. Certain preventative, basic restorative and major restorative services are covered. Orthodontia care is also provided for eligible dependents as an in-network benefit. Vision Insurance The Hyatt Vision Plan is designed to provide employees and their eligible dependents or domestic partner with the opportunity to obtain quality vision care. Each year, Hyatt employees have the option of receiving an eye examination and a pair of lenses/frames or contacts at a minimal expense (subject to co-payments and plan maximums) at the in-network level. Frequency of visits is limited to one visit every twelve months. Retirement Savings Plan At Hyatt, each employee has the opportunity to build for their future through the Retirement Savings Plan. Each year, Hyatt makes a contribution for each employee to a special account established in his/her name. In addition, each employee can contribute 1-30% of his/her compensation (subject to certain IRS limitations) on a pre-tax basis. Basic, Supplemental and Dependent Term Life Insurance The Hyatt Life Insurance Program is intended to provide your beneficiary with additional financial support should you die while actively employed by the company. Dependent life insurance is also available for your eligible dependents or domestic partner. Benefit levels and options vary based on your occupation with Hyatt. Sick and Vacation Days Each Hyatt employee is eligible for 6 sick days each year with any unused days being converted to "extended illness" days for future use. The amount of vacation each Hyatt employee is entitled is determined by the years of service with the company: Completed Years of Service Time Off With Pay
  • 1-4 2 Weeks (10 days)
  • 5-9 3 Weeks (15 days)
  • 10+ 4 Weeks (20 days)
Complimentary Hotel Room Nights! After completing 1 year of service, Hyatt employees are eligible for 12 complimentary room nights per year! This benefit is available to all full time employees and part time employees on a pro-rated basis. In addition, discounted room rates are available to employees' immediate family members! Work/Life Benefits Hyatt encourages all employees to focus on balancing work and family life. To help, Hyatt offers Ceridian LifeBalance. This free confidential assistance program can help with all issues of daily living-anytime! Ceridian LifeBalance's wide array of services include:

Hyatt has long been regarded as a leader in the creation of innovative products for business, group and leisure customers. With the introduction of Hyatt Business Plan, Hyatt leads the industry after re-tooling its facilities and services to better meet the needs of the business traveler. Specially designed rooms called Business Plan rooms offered in approximately 80 hotels include printer/copier/fax machines in every room, complimentary continental breakfast and other features to help business travelers stay productive on the road. In addition, Hyatt has been on the forefront in developing faster, more efficient check-in options, including 1-800-CHECKIN, which allows guests to check in to their hotel rooms in the U.S. and Canada by telephone. The company also is known for introducing other concepts to the hotel industry including Regency Club floors that offer premium VIP services with a concierge and club lounge on every floor.

Leaders in attracting group business, Hyatt offers a unique array of products and services geared to helping its customers run a perfect meeting. Each hotel has a Meeting Concierge, a specialist dedicated to responding to the needs of meeting planners and attendees. Hyatt recently launched the Customer Care Initiative, which is designed to improve meeting planning services and increase customer satisfaction. Hyatt also offers Meeting Connection, the industry's most comprehensive small meeting services program, and Meeting Dividends, which awards bonus points to meeting planners. Hyatt also participates in a partnership program with the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) to certify Hyatt convention services personnel as expert meeting consultants.

Hyatt recognized the need to accommodate families with children in 1989 when it introduced Camp Hyatt, the hotel industry's most extensive kids program. Camp Hyatt is an extensive, child-tailored program filled with educational games, activities and cultural enrichment programs for tots to pre-teens. The program also offers parents the opportunity to buy a second room for kids at half price (based on availability), as well as children's menus in restaurants and room service. Camp Hyatt is currently offered for children ages 3 - 12.
