<div>Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part-time, permanent hourly classified Office Assistant 2 position to work approximately 17 hours a week. This position supports the Security and Safety Department and reports to the department’s Security Manager.  The work schedule for this position may vary, but will typically be Wednesday 10:00am-3:00pm, Thursday and Friday 9:00am-3:00pm.  This position is not eligible for benefits.At Clark, we value equity, diversity, and inclusion. We are committed to growing, learning, and supporting our employees. </div><div><div> </div><div>JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Process documents and records, extract and compile records or data.</li><li>Respond to inquiries from the public concerning Security and Safety services and procedures. </li><li>Maintain and monitor established record keeping, filing and database systems. </li><li>Produce forms, letters, record entries, and other material.  </li><li>Follow established guidelines, respond to inquiries regarding departmental services and procedures.</li><li>Answer telephones, receive and refer visitors.</li><li>Receive and transfer telephone calls; relay information to staff or take messages when appropriate.</li><li>Sort, file, and tabulate various documents and records; establish and prepare new files or categories within established filing systems.</li><li>Enter and retrieve data using electronic files.</li><li>Remove and log materials; maintain status and file reports.</li><li>Maintain Lost and Found Inventory following established procedures.</li><li>Perform data inquiries in multiple computerized systems and databases.</li><li>Perform data entry and maintain document files.</li><li>Maintain the confidentiality of records, student information, and other data.</li><li>May perform data retrieval and modification and enter data on numerical or alphabetical data entry equipment.</li><li>Serve as a designated Campus Security Authority as defined by the Clery Act.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul> </div></div><div><div>POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES:Candidates will be evaluated based on application materials, including the supplemental questions and personal interview(s), and will be required to demonstrate competencies in the following areas:<ul><li>High school diploma or GED.</li><li>Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, as well as the ability to quickly learn new software systems as required. </li><li>Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups and individuals</li><li>Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.</li></ul></div></div><div><div>JOB READINESS/WORKING CONDITIONS:<ul><li>Ability to work at a computer workstation for long periods of time.</li><li>Ability to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with colleagues in a fast-paced, high-energy, and high-pressure environment.</li><li>Must exhibit good work attendance.</li><li>Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.</li><li>The initial appointment will include a 6-month probationary period, and the employee will earn permanent status after successfully completing probation.  </li><li>This position is represented by Washington Public Employees Association. </li><li>Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted which includes a sexual misconduct background check as required under <a href="https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=28B.112.080" rel="nofollow">RCW 28B.112.080</a>.
