Key job responsibilities - Own both the people and technical direction for your team - balancing customer-facing feature delivery, operational excellence, and long-term architectural investments - Partner with Principal Engineers, peer SDMs, and Product Managers to define customer experience, drive design reviews, and resolve cross-team dependencies across DynamoDB - Drive operational excellence for mission-critical services processing millions of requests per second - owning production readiness, incident reduction, and on-call health - Hire, mentor, and grow engineers - building tech leads, guiding career development, and fostering an inclusive team culture - Make pragmatic tradeoffs between delivery velocity, system reliability, and technical debt. DynamoDB Global Tables enables customers to replicate their tables across multiple AWS regions, providing low-latency reads and writes globally with built-in high availability and disaster recovery.
