Salary Range:$49,001.94 - $73,985.60
Works under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor to direct and coordinate small crews responsible for the care and maintenance of park grounds and equipment, athletic fields, street medians, and other park services. Instructs assigned crew on dispensing and mixing of chemicals, proper use and operation of assigned equipment. Inspects equipment, oversees routine maintenance and notifies supervisor of needed repairs. Orders supplies and monitors daily expenditures. Evaluates work performance, maintains time sheets, and provides disciplinary actions for assigned staff as required. Maintains records of daily activities and participates in work being performed, such as building bleacher seats, setting up for special events, installing and repairing playground equipment, planting and caring for flowers and trees, cutting grass, and trash pickup. Travels and inspects various work sites throughout the City. Evaluates activities and work requirements with crews to ensure completion of work. Interprets policies for workers and attempts to resolve employee grievances according to union contract procedures.
High school diploma/equivalent and six (6) years' experience in grounds maintenance, with one (1) of the six (6) years in a lead capacity; or any combination of training and experience which enables one to perform the essential job functions. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment. Must comply with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) Alcohol and Drug testing rules as a condition of continued employment.

Must be able to operate equipment used in maintaining a golf course such as mowers, weed eaters, etc. Requires occasionally lifting (approx. 50 lbs.), bending, and pushing when assisting with manual labor. Requires the ability to traverse uneven ground and across ditches to visually inspect property.

Majority of work is performed in an outdoor environment and often exposed to various weather conditions, dust, fumes, and chemicals. Frequently drives to various facilities to inspect golf courses.
