The Youth Services Manager oversees all operations of Youth Services, including programs, outreach, and collections for children and adolescents up to age 18.
- Provides leadership by supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Plans and promotes literacy initiatives, collaborates with other departments on library-wide programs, and engages with the community through public speaking and activities.
- Maintains collections, oversees facility standards, and ensures a positive, safe environment.
- Serves on management teams, assists with policy development, and steps into leadership roles as needed.
- Requires a Master’s in Library Science, LC3 certification, 5-7 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of youth library services, collection development, and early literacy models.
The role involves frequent computer work, customer interaction, physical activity, and adherence to organizational values such as community focus and collaboration. The salary ranges from $58,365 to $65,666 annually.
