Available Shifts (2 openings): Sunday - Off Monday - 10:30am-6:30pm Tuesday - 10:30am-6:30pm Wednesday - 10:30am-6:30pm Thursday - 10:30am-6:30pm Friday - 10:30am-6:30pm Saturday - Off Shift Differential for Advocate Positions: $1 from 4p to midnight Description: The Youth Resiliency Center Advocate provides a continuum of services for runaway, homeless, and street youth up to age 21 at the Youth Resiliency Center. Provides advocacy, crisis intervention, support and services to teens that are homeless, runaways, or experiencing abuse or neglect. Assists in the drop-in program activities of the Youth Resiliency Center. Follows Standard Operating Procedures for site in day to day responsibilities. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in social services field preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS The employee in this position must have CPR/First Aid Certification, Safe Crisis Management certification, and have a valid Class E Drivers license. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES The employee must be able to use general office equipment, type and perform Data Entry, and have the ability to use computer software, including Windows, Word for Windows, and Access. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check and Family Care Safety Registry screening, fingerprint screen, drug screen, physical and have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
