Youth Advocate I - Juvenile Justice

Eliot is seeking compassionate, service-oriented Youth Advocate I to work in a staff-secure setting for court-involved youth, ages 13 to 21 within our Juvenile Justice residential network. This position offers a unique opportunity to positively impact a youths life by providing patient, supportive care and mentorship.

The role is multifaceted, encompassing advocacy, skill building, care coordination, education and role modeling. You will work as part of a dedicated team to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth. Responsibilities:

• Use principles and practices of youth development and trauma informed care to create a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Promote an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful environment that embraces diversity.
• Foster the youths skills and interests and mentor their positive development.
• Implement program activities that are safe and foster personal growth and healthy choices.
• Promote responsible and healthy decision-making among youth.
• Implement applicable safety and emergency requirements including use of crisis prevention and de-escalation skills.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or related experience.
• Experience working with youth.
• Valid Massachusetts drivers license.

Schedule:

• 7am-3pm, Wednesday-Sunday (Monday/Tuesday off)
• 7am-3pm, Friday-Tuesday (Wednesday/ Thursday off)
• 3pm-11pm, Thursday-Monday (Tuesday/Wednesday off)
