Job Title: Young Adult Program Job Coach
Reports to: Director of Special Education
Length of Position: 185 Days
Job Coach Responsibilities
Instructional Support
- Carry out plans and directions provided by teachers to support students' learning and job training.
- Prompt, model, and reinforce skills that align with daily goals and classroom instruction.
- Support students at job sites with professionalism and safety in mind.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate needs, concerns, and ideas respectfully and directly with teachers.
- Refrain from directing or supervising other job coaches - feedback or concerns should go through the teacher.
- Share relevant student or program information with the full team through appropriate channels.
Professionalism and Conduct
- Be fully present and engaged with students during instructional and jobsite times.
- Minimize phone use to essential communication only, and model expected student behavior.
- Uphold confidentiality, safety, and respectful interactions at all times.
- Use end-of-day planning time to complete assigned tasks, prepare for the upcoming week, and contribute to program success.
Additional Duties May include
- Safely drives a school activity van on days when school is in session over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, loading and unloading students at designated locations.
- Transports students to activity trips.
- Reports all mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations, or accidents, promptly.
- Transporting the bus to and from Baugo Central office, for maintenance and/or repairs
- Follows procedures to ensure that no child is left alone on bus without adult supervision
at any time, and that all children have departed bus at the end of all bus routes (morning,
evening and during activity trips).
- In case of accidents/emergencies, evacuates children according to written and practiced
procedures, ensures that medical emergency procedures are followed; completes a written report as required.
