The Bob Hoffman Dover YMCA is looking for caring, enthusiastic Child Watch Attendants to create a safe, engaging space for children while parents participate in YMCA programs.
Schedule: Mondays & Wednesdays 5–8 PM, occasional Saturdays.
Employees enjoy FREE YMCA facility access, Child Watch for your own children while working (up to 3 hours/day, when available), and program discounts.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Child Watch Attendant is a direct care position responsible for assisting in the implementation of daily program activities and care of YMCA member's children while in Child Watch. All employees must reflect the YMCA of York and York County core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility when carrying out their job functions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Supervises, actively participates in, and assists children in activities
2.Practices basic safety and health policies; guides children clean-up routines, bathroom habits and general development
3.Completes required documentation (i.e. incident reports)
4.Practices infection control procedures and proper hand washing
5.Establishes and maintains a child friendly center. Implements appropriate discipline techniques as needed
6.Knows fire and emergency procedures and acts accordingly when necessary
7.Maintains current Pediatric and Child CPR and First Aid certifications. Completes child abuse prevention and appropriate touch trainings on an annual basis
8.Attends staff meetings
9.Reports any suspected abuse to coordinator/ director
10.Prepares center materials as needed
11.Responsible to know and follow established policies and procedures of the YMCA and Child Watch
12.Maintains a positive attitude toward children and their families
13.Maintains confidentiality and treats all families with dignity and respect
14.Performs all janitorial duties (i.e. wiping down tables, sweeping the floor, etc.)
15.All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
•A high school diploma or general educational development certificate preferred
•At least 6 months experience with children
•Obtain a state police clearance, a child abuse clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
•Must have or obtain Adult and Pediatric CPR, AED and First Aid
•Must have or obtain mandated reporter training
