Yard Technician – Interior Build / Refurbishment
Location: Madison, WI
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Overtime as needed

Position Overview
Bear Staffing is seeking a hands-on Yard Technician for a modular building company in Madison, WI. This role focuses on interior rebuild and refurbishment of modular office units.
This position is ideal for someone with construction or remodeling experience who is comfortable performing physical, detail-oriented work. The job is similar to building or remodeling the interior of a small home — flooring, drywall, painting, and finish work — completed in a yard environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove and replace damaged wooden flooring
- Apply epoxy floor coatings
- Install, patch, and repair drywall
- Perform interior framing and finish carpentry
- Operate paint sprayers for interior and exterior finishes
- Pressure wash units prior to refurbishment
- Assist with minor welding repairs (preferred but not required)
- Operate forklift to move units and materials (preferred)
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Ensure all units meet company quality and safety standards
Qualifications
- Experience in construction, remodeling, carpentry, or general labor
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Experience with flooring, drywall, painting, or interior build-outs
- Comfortable performing physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing)
- Forklift experience preferred
- Welding experience a plus
