Job Title: CDL Truck Driver (Nights)

As a Yard Driver at our water bottling company, you'll be the driving force behind our operation—moving trailers, supporting production, and helping ensure millions of bottles of fresh drinking water make it to customers. Every shift brings a new challenge, and your work plays a key role in keeping the entire facility moving safely and efficiently.

 

SUMMARY

Drives tanker truck with capacity of more than 50,000 gallons, to transport water to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties; Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.


 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

GMP & PPE REQUIRED

Drivers, while in the facility are required to follow all GMP rules in their employee handbook this includes the required hairnets, beard nets, and earplugs for safety. It is also required that all personnel wear safety glasses while operating a forklift.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES

Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Drives truck to destination.
  • Maintain trucks log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains constant telephone or radio contact with logistics to receive instructions. Insure timely disposition of loaded and/or unloaded trailers.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
  • Uses forklift trucks to load and unload trailers
  • Meets food safety and quality objectives and the requirements of the SQF System
  • Other duties as assigned


  • In the absence of this employee, responsibilities will be covered by the direct manager or qualified appointee as determined by the Supply Chain Manager.




SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. .


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid CDL Class “A” license, tanker endorsement, a clean driving record, and either a valid forklift operator’s license, or ability to obtain certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employees are regularly required to sit, stand and walk to and from areas of responsibilities; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Climb up and/or down from seat level. The employee is also required to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; some high precarious places, and a noise level requiring use of hearing protection.

Also this job includes the elimates of working outside, and will have to deal with all kinds of weather conditions. There are certain areas of the plant that have pace-maker restrictions.
