WW Category Manager – Home Traditional Inkjet Printers

Description -

The WW Category Manager – Traditional Inkjet Printers supports the worldwide management of the Traditional Inkjet hardware category across Consumer and Business segments.

The role provides category, market, and competitive insight to help shape portfolio decisions, 4P plans, subscription integration, and hardware–supplies alignment, with the goal of improving revenue, margin, and market share performance.

This position works cross‑functionally with Home Print, Supplies, Subscriptions, Marketing, Sales, Pricing, and Regional teams, influencing outcomes through analysis, recommendations, and coordination, rather than end‑to‑end ownership.

Responsibilities:

Category, Market & Competitive Insight

  • Support WW category strategy with insights on market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of competitors’ portfolios, positioning, pricing, and go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Analyze category and competitive performance to identify opportunities, risks, and implications for the HP portfolio.

Portfolio & 4P Support

  • Support optimization of the Traditional Inkjet hardware portfolio, aligned to customer segments, price tiers, and regional market needs.
  • Provide input on portfolio gaps, overlaps, and differentiation versus competitors.
  • Contribute to WW 4P plans (Product, Price, Place, Promotion) for Consumer and Business Inkjet.

Hardware–Supplies & Subscription Alignment

  • Act as a key interface with the Supplies organization to support alignment on strategy, portfolio direction, and priorities.
  • Contribute to integrated system messaging across printers, ink/supplies, and subscriptions.
  • Support integration of subscription (e.g., Instant Ink) considerations into hardware portfolio and GTM discussions.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Pricing, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Supplies, Subscription, and Regional teams.
  • Prepare analysis and materials for business reviews, planning cycles, and leadership discussions.
  • Support tracking and reporting of category KPIs (revenue, margin, market share, units).

Education & Experience (Recommended):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in Category Management, Product Management, Business Analysis, or Competitive Analysis.
  • Experience working with global teams and multi‑market portfolios preferred.
  • Exposure to supplies and/or subscription‑based business models is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Solid understanding of competitive portfolios and market dynamics
  • Ability to translate data into clear insights and recommendations
  • Effective cross‑functional collaboration and communication
  • Comfortable working in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Learning agility and attention to detail

The pay range for this role is $105,050 to $161,800USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
