Job Description

We are seeking a WW and US Medical Communications Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in medical publications, scientific content, medical information, education, and congress strategy and a proven ability to lead cross-functional planning and timely delivery of compliant, high-quality medical communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and delivery of medical publications, scientific content, medical information, education, training, and congress presentations aligned to strategy.
  • Secure governance endorsement for medical communications plans and maintain plans in line with the evolving scientific landscape and market strategy.
  • Serve as point of contact for WW Medical Communications and matrix partners and provide communications management oversight.
  • Drive two-way communication between WW and markets, including vendor oversight and cross-country connectivity.
  • Own pull-through of the Scientific Narrative and execution of the integrated publication and content plans within the Scientific Communication Platform.
  • Manage Medical Communications budget and interface with market matrix partners with strong business acumen.

Data Dissemination:

  • Act as subject matter expert on communication landscape, HCP preferences, publication planning, data disclosure, and external representation with investigators, authors, and journal editors.
  • Uphold Good Publication Practices standards to ensure integrity, quality, and transparency across publications and scientific content.
  • Build collaborations with internal and external disease-area experts to support analysis, interpretation, planning, and dissemination of data.
  • Collect and leverage insights to deliver impactful medical communications for customer engagement.
  • Identify and drive process, tool, SOP, and outsourcing improvements for consistent delivery and standards alignment.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Foster relationships with academic and clinical experts, publishers, medical associations, and key groups; participate in external initiatives to build trust in the medical publishing community.
  • Partner with TA Medical Communication Leads, Market Medical, and cross-functional teams to plan and allocate resources including budget, medical writing, and biostatistics.
  • Manage third-party vendors to balance internal and external execution.
  • Establish and communicate clear metrics aligned with key medical stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Model high performance, teamwork, accountability, and quality; reinforce client behaviors across the organization.
  • Ensure audit and inspection readiness.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion in decision making, organization, and talent development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Advanced scientific degree preferred: PharmD, PhD, or MD.
  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience focused on medical communications; local and global experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership with ability to drive performance, build alignment, and collaborate across matrix and geographies.
  • Proven success operating in ambiguous, complex environments with multiple priorities and tight timelines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with effective timeline and quality management.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and time management.
  • Experience leading medical communications across drug development and commercialization phases.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret clinical trial data.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Flexibility to participate in teleconferences and virtual meetings across time zones.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience coordinating with market and worldwide medical teams and external vendors.
  • Familiarity with Scientific Communication Platforms and publication management tools.
