Job Summary

Wyatt Park Christian Church is seeking a passionate and spiritually grounded Worship Director to lead our Contemporary and Traditional worship services. The ideal candidate will blend excellent musical proficiency with pastoral leadership to create engaging, Christ-centered worship experiences. You will be responsible for planning services, mentoring volunteers, and fostering a culture of worship that resonates with our intergenerational congregation.

Primary Responsibilities

Worship Leadership: Plan and lead weekly worship services, including song selection, service flow, and special events (e.g., Ash Wednesday, Christmas Eve, and funerals) in collaboration with the Pastor.
Team Development: Recruit, audition, train, and schedule volunteer musicians, vocalists, and technical team members.
Rehearsals: Lead weekly rehearsals to ensure musical excellence and unity among the team.
AVL Management: Oversee the audio, video, and lighting (AVL) systems, ensuring a distraction-free environment for worship.
Spiritual Leadership: Shepherd the worship team, providing encouragement and fostering a team culture of prayer and spiritual growth.

Qualifications

A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Proficiency in leading worship while playing an instrument (guitar or piano preferred)
Experience in leading, training, and building volunteer teams (vocalists, instrumentalists, and worship tech)
Knowledge of modern worship music and technical systems (e.g., Planning Center, Worship Tools, ProPresenter).
Ability to read music and arrange songs
A bachelor's/master's degree in a music related field
