The Work Study \u2013 Assistant Nursing involves working in an administrative capacity to support the clinical operations of the Berman School of Nursing and Health Professions and the work of the Director of Clinical Practice and the Coordinator, Clinical Contracts and Compliance.

Education/Experience

Currently enrolled at Stevenson University and in good standing with the university both academically and judicially. Administrative/clerical experience preferred. Healthcare experience strongly preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

  • Knowledge of medical/healthcare terminology
  • Computer and office software skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite)

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work with occasional need for medium work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, keyboarding, and repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, and an office location with potential exposure to science laboratories, chemicals and chemical processes, biologicals and biological processes and magnetic field.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with scheduling appointments for Academic Program Administrators (APAs), Clinical Placement Coordinator, and Director of Clinical Practice.
  • Assist with planning clinical orientation and clinical supervisor meetings.
  • Assist Course Coordinators with clinical management aspects of course coordination.
  • Internally route non-confidential clinical contracts, documentation, and paperwork.
  • Electronically and/or physically maintain non-confidential program clinical records.
  • Schedule/re-schedule student dosage calculation exams.
  • Assist with laboratory set-up and clean up.
  • Verify students' completion of clinical orientation/onboarding.
  • Contact students regarding outstanding clinical documents, requirements, and/or deadlines.
  • Develop/update Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) for clinical management and submit for review.
  • Communicate clinical scheduling, needs, issues, and changes to students, faculty, Course Coordinators, and Academic Program Administrators (APAs).
