    Woodwind Technician

    Performs temporary, instructional-related activities at the direction of the band director during the marching band season.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma minimum
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Reliable transportation
    • Experience in the competitive marching arts - DCI/DCA or winter winds experience strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of current woodwind techniques
    • Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair

    Job Responsibilities

    • Be on time and attend all rehearsals, band camps, and competitions, actively participating in assisting students in sectionals and whole group rehearsals
    • Ensure safety and supervision of students at all times
    • Establish goals and high performance standards for the section
    • Follow and coach/teach instructional plans given
    • Maintains the warmup program assigned by the band director
    • Attend all marching band staff meetings
    • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with the band director and other instructional staff
    • Provide instruction of basic to advanced brass rudiments and fundamentals
    • Lead scheduled rehearsals and sectionals
    • Other related duties, as assigned
