ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. Work Day: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm and as approved by administration for school related events.
- Serves as a single point of contact and mentor for all non-instructional issues including orientation, ensuring students have all necessary equipment, and know how and when to access their courses
- Serves as a liaison between the student/guardian and other academic teachers and administration
- Examines academic progress and activity of students on their caseload on a regular basis
- Initiates recurring contact by phone with students and their families
- Arrange and moderate advisor/parent/student/teacher conferences as needed to address performance concerns
- Assists with staffing standardized testing
- Attends staff meetings and attends/participates in school and Stride sponsored Professional Development events
- Provides Student Support plans and progress mentoring of plans
- Provides ongoing re-registration support
- Provides outreach, training, and support to families who respond to surveys as it relates to family engagement to enhance the sense of community and belonging
- Provides individualized attention and support to students and Learning Coaches identified for training gaps or requested networking within the school community
- Initiates meaningful contact by phone, email, and other means with students and their Learning Coach
- Oversees weekly office hours/help sessions
- Increases professional knowledge and skills by attending required staff meetings; participating in school and K12 sponsored Professional Development and seeking other professional learning opportunities

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Organizational skills, ability to coordinate varied tasks successfully
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to travel as needed, around 10% of the time within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, and participate in school activities
- Ability to pass required background check

- This is a year-round position with the following time off: PTO days, Spring Break, Winter Break, Thanksgiving Break, Federal Holidays as Prescribed.
- This is not a position of the McFarland School District and does not have district benefits, including, but not limited to Wisconsin Retirement System eligibility
