Wireless Network Technician needed for a 6+ Month Contract onsite (50% travel) in Plano, TX!Our client is seeking a experienced Wireless Network Design Technician to design, assess, and optimize enterprise wireless networks. This role is responsible for conducting onsite wireless surveys, developing wireless LAN (WLAN) architectures, creating predictive and active wireless designs, and supporting customer deployments. The ideal candidate possesses strong RF design expertise, excellent customer-facing skills, and the ability to travel to customer locations as required. Ability to travel up to 50% (or as required by project demand).
Key Responsibilities:- Wireless Assessments & Site Surveys
- Conduct onsite wireless site surveys, including:
- Active (AP-on-a-stick) surveys
- Passive wireless surveys
- Spectrum analysis surveys
- Post-install validation surveys
- Evaluate RF environments, signal propagation, interference, noise levels, and coverage requirements.
- Perform wireless troubleshooting and identify remediation recommendations.
- Create detailed heat maps, coverage reports, and RF analysis documentation.
- Wireless Design & Architecture - Design enterprise WLAN solutions for office, retail, healthcare, warehouse, manufacturing, and campus environments.
Develop predictive wireless designs utilizing customer floorplans and business requirements. - Determine optimal:
- Access Point placement
- Channel plans
- Power settings
- Antenna selection
- Roaming strategies
- Determine optimal: Produce design documents, implementation plans, and network diagrams.
- Customer Engagement
- Lead discovery workshops to gather:
- Business requirements
- Application requirements
- Device density expectations
- Coverage objectives
- Security requirements
- Present design recommendations and technical findings to customers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, and implementation engineers.
- Deployment Support:
- Provide technical guidance during implementation.
- Validate installations against design specifications.
- Support troubleshooting and optimization post-deployment.
- Review survey results and update designs as customer requirements evolve.

Preferred Qualifications:- 5+ years of enterprise wireless networking experience.
- Strong understanding of:
- Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Wi Fi 7
- RF fundamentals

- Roaming and mobility design
- Capacity planning
- Experience performing active and passive wireless surveys.
- Experience with enterprise wireless platforms such as:
- Aruba
- Cisco / Cisco Meraki
- Juniper Mist
- Extreme Networks
- Ruckus
- Etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in customer-facing environments.
Preferred Certs/ Knowledge / Tools:- CWNA, CWDP, CWSP, or CWNE certifications.
- Cisco CCNP Enterprise Wireless.
- Aruba Certified Professional certifications.
- Experience with warehouse and high-density deployments.
- Knowledge of low-voltage cabling and physical infrastructure requirements.
