Wire/RAM EDM Machining Specialist (Setup and Operations)

Hatboro, PA | Full-Time

At KMM Group, Ltd., we craft mission-critical components for air, space, and life-saving applications. If precision work energizes you, this is where your expertise turns into real-world impact.

A day in the life

You arrive, review the router and setup sheets, and plan your first job. You load a Mitsubishi wire EDM or a Makino sinker, confirm your offsets, and run a first-article check. During the shift, you fine-tune NC code to tighten cycle times, perform in-process inspection to exacting tolerances, and troubleshoot a tricky setup by improving a fixture and refining technique. Before you leave, your well-planned lights-out run is queued, with monitoring and maintenance steps handled so the machines keep producing through the night.

What you will handle

  • Set up and run Mitsubishi wire EDM and/or Makino sinker EDM equipment for complex, tight-tolerance parts
  • Interpret blueprints, routers, and setup sheets to plan accurate, efficient workflows
  • Adjust and modify NC code and control parameters to enhance quality and throughput
  • Perform in-process checks and final verifications to confirm conformance
  • Troubleshoot setups; recommend and implement improvements to tooling, fixturing, and methods
  • Plan and sustain reliable lights-out EDM production through smart scheduling and preventative maintenance

What you bring

  • 5+ years hands-on experience with wire and/or RAM (sinker) EDM in a high-precision environment
  • Strong familiarity with Mitsubishi, Makino, or comparable EDM controls and NC code
  • Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred; high school diploma required
  • Ability to self-inspect to stringent specifications and tolerances
  • Mindset for doing it right the first time and improving it the next
