Job Summary:
As a Resident Coordinator you will have two primary responsibilities. Upkeep of dorm appearances (cleaning public areas inside and outside of dorms), prepare rooms, provide linen, and deep cleaning. Second will be to establish a positive, professional working relationship with all residents and strive to create and maintain a sense of ownership and community within the dorm they supervise.

Responsibilities
- Establish positive, professional relationships with all residents. This includes interacting with all residents in a courteous and respectful manner, providing excellent customer service, setting expectations early and often, and learning residents' names/positions/interests.
- Plan, facilitate, support, and participate in weekly community involvement efforts in which housing staff are involved. This includes being cognizant of residents' schedules and interests while selecting activities and/or content, assisting other housing staff and community members in the implementation of such efforts, and striving to create and encourage a fun, engaging environment based on respect and inclusivity.
- Maintain high standards of residence housekeeping by following weekly and daily cleaning schedules as set by management which include, but are not limited to, groundskeeping of litter and debris around the exterior of dormitories, cleaning and maintaining public areas such as restrooms, lobbies, and laundry rooms, and deep cleaning resident rooms prior to arrival and/or following departure.
- Ensure proper use of chemicals and cleaning supplies while following established personal protective equipment procedures.
- Maintain high standards of residence safety through consistent visual checks of egress routes, monthly safety inspections, and collaborating with Security on relevant issues and/or concerns.
- Keep accurate and detailed administrative records related to dorm management including resident arrivals and departures, monthly safety inspections, linen control, supply control, Omnigo reporting, and other administrative duties as assigned.
- Comply with established key control policy and procedures and ensure all master key activity is properly logged.
- Handle all resident and personnel matters with sensitivity and maintain the appropriate level of confidentiality, sharing information surrounding these matters with the appropriate individuals.
- Make proper judgement calls regarding the escalation of issues above and beyond the realm of their position including, but not limited to, dorm compliance issues, employee relation issues, NPS violations, interpersonal conflicts, and workplace concerns.
- Positively represent Xanterra Parks and Resorts and serve as a role model for all residents by complying with all dormitory regulations, Xanterra Parks and Resorts policies, and state and federal laws.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to learn and utilize basic computer systems.
- Basic knowledge of dormitory regulations, Xanterra Parks and Resorts policies and procedures, and National Park rules and regulations.
- Ability to work independently with limited interaction and/or within a team environment.
- Ability to de-escalate and/or mediate and make appropriate judgement decisions during times of minor conflict.
- Ability to maintain professionalism when faced with stressful and/or crisis situations.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrates basic administrative abilities, including accurate record-keeping, time management, and effective communication with team members and supervisors.
- Able to learn and operate company-issued devices (e.g., tablets, smartphones, or computers) and relevant software applications as needed for the role.
- Maintains confidentiality and security when handling sensitive information in both paper and electronic formats.
Physical Requirements include:
- Able to walk or stand for at least 30 minutes at a time.
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work above 7,700 feet elevation.
- Can navigate housing facilities and climb stairs daily.
- Walks regularly between HR and other department offices.
- Able to sit for 30-120 minutes or more.
- Can walk continuously for up to one mile.
- Comfortable walking on uneven, icy, or snow-covered terrain.
