Job Duties
The Virginia Military Institute is accepting applications for a Windows Server Administrator/Computer Applications Engineer to assist Lead Data Center Engineer and VMI ERP application staff in managing all aspects of configuration, implementation, and maintenance of the Institutes' Windows server environment. Applicants must possess exceptional technical and troubleshooting abilities and excellent verbal and written communications skills. The successful applicant must excel in a team environment and on an individual basis.
Position Description:
The Windows Server Administrator/Computer Applications Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the Institutes' Server environment including comprehensive administration, maintenance, monitoring, and enterprise level technical support. This position will be responsible for implementing and supporting Microsoft Windows infrastructure solutions and integrations with the Institutes ERP system and other various 3rd party systems including analyzing, testing, and providing improvement recommendations for all issues encountered. This position will work with other system administrators to connect different computer systems and applications to ensure seamless communication and data exchange. The position will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining integration solutions that enable Virginia Military Institute to streamline their business processes and improve overall efficiency.
Position Duties
Commonwealth systems; system failure; insecure systems; and the unreliability of information and data produced by systems.
The successful candidate is required to perform after-hours work when circumstances dictate.
