PGS Worldwide is seeking a Windows and Virtualization Systems Architect in Roy, UT for a one-year contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Windows and Virtualization Systems Architect will support the Software Development Environment for the Sentinel program. This is a senior lead/technical architect role focused on virtualization, storage, Windows domain architecture, infrastructure administration, system patching, backup and recovery, classified network support, security compliance, and technical issue resolution in a high-security onsite environment.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of related experience, master’s degree with 9+ years of related experience, or high school diploma/equivalent with 16+ additional years of related experience in lieu of degree.
  • Active Secret DoD clearance required.
  • Ability to obtain a finalized DoD Top Secret clearance within a reasonable time after hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SAP/SAR access.
  • IAT Level II certification or higher, such as Security+ CE.
  • Experience architecting virtualization and storage solutions.
  • Experience administering virtualization and storage platforms.
  • Experience supporting hypervisors, storage systems, infrastructure solutions, system updates, patching, and IT system administration.
  • Experience supporting end users and technical staff with complex issues involving software tools, applications, databases, and system access.
  • Experience maintaining multi-user computer systems.
  • Ability to coordinate with network engineers, software engineers, systems engineers, desktop technicians, project managers, end users, customers, and IT management.
  • Experience administering backup and recovery services.
  • Experience managing file systems, disk space, and virus protection.
  • Ability to follow strict information systems security guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain security audit and logging information on classified networks.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal direction.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an information systems-related field.
  • Current DoD Top Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance.
  • Experience maintaining containerized environments.
  • Systems engineering experience in other environments.
  • Experience operating under or managing systems within DCSA, DCID 6/3, ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG environments.
  • VMware experience or certification.
  • Experience with vCenter and ESXi environments version 6.5 or newer.
  • VDI deployment experience, including Horizon or Hyper-V.
  • Mastery of Windows domain architecture, including Active Directory, LDAP, RADIUS, and certificate authorities.
  • Knowledge of SAN storage systems, including NetApp OnTap, E-Series, or other vendor solutions.
  • Experience with backup solutions such as Cohesity or PPDM.
  • Experience with classified infrastructure, Sentinel program support, virtualization architecture, storage architecture, Windows administration, security auditing, patch management, and technical infrastructure leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a lead technical architect supporting the Sentinel Software Development Environment.
  • Administer virtualization and storage platforms across the site.
  • Manage and support hypervisors, storage, infrastructure services, system updates, and patching.
  • Support administration of various classified IT systems.
  • Provide advanced technical support for software tools, applications, databases, and system access issues.
  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems.
  • Coordinate with network, software, systems, desktop, project, customer, and IT management teams.
  • Administer backup and recovery services.
  • Manage file systems, disk space, virus protection, and routine system health.
  • Maintain security audit and logging information on classified networks as directed by the ISSM.
  • Develop technical solutions independently in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
  • Support diverse technical assignments in a collaborative team setting.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • Full-time onsite role.
  • This is not a remote position.
  • Primary listed location: Roy, UT.
  • Other possible onsite locations listed in the requisition include Huntsville, AL; Annapolis Junction, MD; Melbourne, FL; San Antonio, TX; Colorado Springs, CO; Bellevue, NE; or Redondo Beach, CA.
  • 9x80 A schedule.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.

Pay

  • $109.85/hour
