About MW Millworks

MW Millworks is a locally owned custom millwork manufacturer specializing in high-end, architecturally accurate millwork for both new construction and impact-rated projects, with approximately 30% of our work dedicated to historic restoration. Located in North Charleston, we partner with builders, architects, and designers to produce premium-quality doors, windows, mouldings, shutters, and custom elements. Our team combines craftsmanship with precision tooling to deliver projects that enhance Charleston’s architectural landscape—whether preserving history or creating something entirely new.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Window Glazer to join our production team, supporting the fabrication and restoration of historic wood windows. This role focuses on traditional glazing methods, including setting glass in putty, hand glazing, rolling putty, and striking clean lines against glass and sash profiles. You’ll play a key role in delivering historically accurate, high-quality window assemblies while supporting general shop operations.

What You’ll Do

  • Set glass into wood window sashes using traditional putty glazing methods

  • Hand glaze and strike putty cleanly against glass and sash profiles

  • Roll, apply, and finish glazing putty to proper depth, angle, and appearance

  • Perform glazing work on historic and custom wood windows

  • Inspect finished work for quality, fit, and durability

  • Support general shop tasks including prep work, cleanup, and material handling

  • Collaborate with production team members to meet schedules and quality standards

Who You Are

  • Take pride in hands-on craftsmanship and quality outcomes

  • Detail-oriented and patient with fine, repetitive handwork

  • Adaptable and willing to support the shop where needed

  • Comfortable working in a team-focused production environment

Qualifications (Ideal, but Not Required)

  • Experience with traditional window glazing or hand glazing techniques

  • Familiarity with rolling and striking glazing putty

  • Exposure to historic window restoration, millwork, or woodworking

  • Background in carpentry, millwork, or restoration trades

  • Willingness to learn traditional glazing methods and shop processes

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs

  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform manual work for extended periods

  • Manual dexterity for detailed handwork

Why Work With Us

  • In-person, hands-on culture where your work makes a visible impact

  • Collaborative, tight-knit team passionate about craftsmanship and quality

  • Competitive benefits, including employer-sponsored health insurance

  • Stable, full-time position with consistent 40 hours and a great schedule:

    • Monday - Thursday: 6:00 AM–3:30 PM

    • Friday: 6:00 AM–12:00 PM (Your weekends start early!)
