POSITION SUMMARY
The Dialysis Technician assists in providing hemodialysis to patients by; preparing dialysis machines, cannulating patient access and initiating/discontinuing treatments.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Evaluate patient access before cannulation each treatment.
- Setting up and tearing down of dialysis machines in safe and timely manner.
- Documents necessary data for each patient every treatment.
- Monitor patients closely during treatment for adverse reactions and reports to nurse accordingly.
- Obtain lab specimens as ordered.
- Attends daily huddles and monthly meetings as scheduled.
- Perform other nursing duties as requested.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required qualifications to effectively perform job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- CCHT certification preferred or must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
- BLS certification required.
- 6 months of related work experience preferred.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
