Description The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Compliance Assurance Risk Manager will be responsible for managing programs and processes that maintain legal compliance and conformance to internal WHS procedures, including assurance processes design, development, testing, implementation, verification, and continual improvement. The role will engage, collaborate, and partner with Amazon businesses, geographical units, and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and other functions (i.e., field operations, governmental affairs, legal, engineering, data scientists and tech teams (AFT), business intelligence engineers, purchasing) to continually improve compliance. More specifically, this role will serve to assist with scalable and reliable actions for managing workplace health and safety (WHS) compliance in different jurisdictions across the globe. The role involves self-driven, independent, and hands-on work in the areas of understanding stakeholder needs and expectations, legal research, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, investigation and root cause analysis, and risk management. Key job responsibilities - Key responsibilities include defining, applying, and defending health and safety compliance requirements; operating in alignment with legal or regulatory requirements; and testing, remediating, and enhancing risk management controls. Partners with legal teams to interpret and define obligations. Engage cross-organizationally with leadership to design program controls and test strategy. Influence senior leadership to implement strategic and programmatic controls. Promote culture of workplace health and safety compliance and risk management - Key responsibilities include building awareness of compliance assurance programs and expectations across organizations; and acting as a continual improvement evangelist. - Should be an effective communicator and send clear, concise, and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
