EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Spanish speaking preferred

High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.

PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:

Provide assistance to district employees and retirees concerning 403b/457b annuities and retirement plans. Assists employees with navigating through National Benefit Services (NBS) and Empower Retirement websites. Assists the District's vendor supplied Wellness Coordinator with District Wellness Initiatives and process correspondence for Senior Director and staff between external and internal customers. Manages reception area to ensure phone coverage at all times.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Answers related questions and assists district employees with navigating through the NBS and Empower Retirement websites.

  2. Answers caller questions related to Risk Management, Benefits, Employee Wellness Initiatives, and District Retirement accounts.

  3. Processes district retirement account refunds by submitting PR39's to district cashier.

  4. Works with vendor to provide the schedule for yearly annual flu shots and health screening participation.

  5. Works with Wellness Coordinator to initiate wellness programs for the district to include:

  • District-wide emails announcing wellness initiatives
  • Correspondence with School Administrators to process wellness initiatives
  • Schedules place of venue and/or room reservations for wellness initiatives
  1. Coordinates yearly TRS retirement sessions for district employees.

  2. Designs, updates, and maintains the Risk Management's Loss Control, Benefits, and Wellness webpages.

  3. Assists with budgets and enters budget into the BUDS System.

  4. Assists with answering critical hotline calls as a backup.

  5. Manages and reconciles departmental AMEX P-Cards and creates purchase orders, RFP's, budget reports, and budget journal entries.

  6. Creates purchase orders, request for payments (RFP), budget reports and budget journal entries.

  7. Creates orders to Office Depot and Amazon using P-Card for department when necessary.

  8. Maintains and updates departmental regulations and policies. Creates board agenda items as required for annual submission.

  9. Processes work orders and help desk tickets for the installation of computer equipment and software network applications.

  10. Coordinates all travel for conferences for Risk Management, Benefits, Safety, and Workers' Compensation. Completes all required travel forms, registration forms, lodging, and airline reservations. Submits travel reimbursements to Accounting Department.

  11. Maintains confidentiality of information.

  12. Reports to work on time every day.

  13. Performs additional duties and accepts responsibilities as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read and interpret various documents conducive to the job, operating, and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record meeting District

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand and/or walk. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee is occasionally required to drive personal vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of his job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
