Position Summary: Manages, supervises, and coordinates the operations of resident care by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Works with Care Coordinators to select, schedule, assign, and evaluate staff, while adjusting hours and shifts as necessary.
- Supervise medication administration by training and then testing care staff; once comfortable with care staff being able to safely pass medications, delegate you authority to pass medications.
- Assure that a registered nurse is readily available to the unlicensed assistant personnel either in person or by telecommunication.
- Coordinate the communication between community, family, pharmacy, and physician regarding any medication changes or needs and maintain medication records as outlined in state regulations.
- Implement policies to assure proper storage and disposal of all narcotics and other medications
- Review all resident medications at least every six months and document the review.
- Perform resident assessments on a timely/ongoing basis; this includes new resident assessments, 6-month assessments, and significant change assessments.
- Create/Update any service plans upon completion of assessments in accordance with Utah State rules and Regulations; notify staff of changes upon completion of new service plan.
- Document level of care changes and communicate changes on a timely basis to the resident, family, and Executive Director.
- Coordinate, monitor, and document any cares provided by outside providersin accordance with Utah State rules and Regulations-home health, physical therapy, hospice, etc.
- Supervise, coordinate, and train all caregivers.
- Assist CNAs with responsibilities regularly and as necessary, lead the care team with respect and resolve conflicts in a professional manner, conduct semi-annual reviews for each staff member.
- Control and track all aspects of care budget by completing all daily, weekly, and monthly budget reports in a timely and accurate manner, proactively seek to stay below budget by working with vendors, and proactively recruit and hire to consistently eliminate the need for high-cost staffing agencies.
- Assist in Marketing and sales process by conducting the pre-admission assessment and working with potential residents and families by giving professional tours and handling phone inquiries.
- Comply with all State Rules and Regulations through on-goingreview of the State of Utah's Rules and Regulations and working with state auditors in a professional manner when surveyed.

- Effectively communicate with resident family members by notifying them of any changes or concerns, discussing and resolving family concerns and interacting with family members to promote confidence and service.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manages subordinate supervisor who supervises employees in the Personal Care Department.
- Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Personal Care Department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

- Education and/or Experience:
- Associates Degree from a college or university.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

- Preferred 3-5 years with hospital management or home health management-nursing background.
