QUALIFICATIONS

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:

Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of experience in welding engineering or a similar role within a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of welding processes including MIG, TIG, and arc welding
Familiarity with welding codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, and ISO

Preferred:

Experience with automated welding systems and robotics
Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) or equivalent certification
Proficiency in CAD software for designing welding fixtures and layouts
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
Understanding of welding metallurgy and its implications on product performance
Ability to analyze and interpret welding specifications, engineering drawings, and technical documents
Experience with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and quality control processes
Soft Skills and Cultural Fit
Exceptional problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and efficiency
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively across teams

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities
Design and implement welding processes and procedures to meet project specifications while enhancing product quality
Conduct thorough analysis and testing of various welding techniques and materials to identify optimal solutions
Lead the development of welding specifications and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and customer requirements
Collaborate with fabrication teams to troubleshoot and resolve welding-related issues in real-time
Provide technical guidance and training to manufacturing personnel on welding best practices and safety protocols
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding efficiency and reduce operational costs
