This welding position involves layout and welding of simple to complex components or structures, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
Key responsibilities:
- Lay out, position, and secure parts per specifications.
- Weld into corners and vertical intersections with minimal blending.
- Inspect grooves, angles, and gaps using precision measuring tools.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Requirements:
- High school diploma with at least 3 years of proven welding experience; shipyard experience preferred.
- Proficient in welding techniques, blueprint reading, and use of measuring instruments.
- Able to evaluate and correct welds with minimal supervision; pass vision and skills tests.
- Willing to work any shift, overtime, and in various positions and environments, including confined spaces.
- Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs., work at heights, and perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Effective communication skills in English and ability to interpret instructions.
The position offers a salary of $25-$30/hour DOE.
