PeopleReady Skilled Trades is hiring 6 Aluminum Welders for an immediate project supporting ferry construction. This is a 2+ month assignment with day and swing shift opportunities available. What You Will Do
- Production weld aluminum inserts on a ferry vessel.
- Utilize both MIG & TIG welding processes.
- Support the full structural workflow: scrap out, fit up, and final production weld-outs.
- (Optional opportunity for Fitters to handle layout and structural fitting).
- Maintain quality workmanship while meeting production schedules
Read and follow fabrication drawings and welding procedures
Equipment & Testing Requirements
To qualify, candidates must pass a rigorous practical welding test with the following parameters:
- Test Spec: 1/2" 5083 aluminum plate with backing.
- Position: 3/4G position.
- Filler Material: 3/64" 5356 Superglaze wire.
- Equipment In Use: Lincoln 300xp / ln-25m combos, Powerwave/25m combos, and Cobramatic wire feeders.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Certification: Active Aluminum Welding Certification.
- Tools: Must provide your own standard welding tools and safety gear.
- Screening: Ability to pass a mandatory background check, drug test, fit test, must be clean shaved
- Ability to work safely in a production shipyard environment
- Availability: Ready to start ASAP on morning or swing shifts.
