Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Weld Shop Foreman to support fabrication and industrial welding operations in Owensboro, Kentucky. The Weld Shop Foreman leads a second shift crew in a hands-on supervisory role, overseeing welding, fabrication, and shop production activities to ensure quality, safety, and schedule performance. This position supports structural fabrication, piping, and industrial maintenance work in a high-production environment. Assignments are project-based with potential for temp-to-perm placement based on performance and operational needs.


Per diem may be available for qualified non-local candidates based on project requirements and distance.


Position Details: 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.), Monday through Thursday. Local and non-local candidates considered.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead second shift welding and fabrication crew (6–8 employees) in daily production activities
  • Perform hands-on welding and fabrication work while directing shop operations as a working foreman
  • Coordinate workflow between shifts to maintain production continuity and meet project deadlines
  • Plan, assign, and monitor work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Review job specifications, drawings, and scope of work to ensure accurate execution of fabrication tasks
  • Monitor production progress and provide updates to management on schedule, performance, and issues
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of shop equipment including welding machines, cranes, and fabrication tools
  • Enforce safety procedures and conduct toolbox safety meetings to maintain a safe work environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of welding and fabrication experience in industrial, structural, or mechanical environments
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or lead role within a fabrication shop or welding environment
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication methods, and shop equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
  • Working knowledge of AWS and ASME welding codes and quality standards
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Ability to plan work, manage crew productivity, and maintain production schedules
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting industrial plant maintenance or heavy mechanical construction projects
  • Experience with structural steel fabrication, piping, and equipment installation
  • Experience working in high-production fabrication shop environments
  • Familiarity with quality control inspections and welding documentation

Additional Information

Work is performed in an active fabrication shop and industrial environment supporting welding and mechanical construction operations. Exposure to heat, noise, welding operations, and heavy equipment is expected. PPE is required in accordance with site safety policies, and respiratory protection may be required based on task or environment. Reliable transportation is required to report to assigned work location. Work schedules may include overtime beyond the standard four-day shift based on production needs.
