POSITION SUMMARY


As the Weekend Supervisor, you will supervise operations for the Machine Shop and Support staff for the Sunday, Friday, and Saturday 12-hour Weekend Shift while also actively producing manufactured goods.


This role is a full-time, on-site position supporting production operations at Hale Products. Hale Products is a leading manufacturer of fire pumps, valves, and foam systems, delivering reliable water flow solutions trusted by fire and emergency response professionals worldwide. It operates as a business unit within IDEX Corporation’s Fire & Safety group, alongside other major rescue and fire‑protection brands.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


+ Direct and manage the manufacture and assembly of products to ensure manufacturing objectives are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

+ Participate in continuous operational improvement using six sigma, lean, 5S, kaizen, VSM and other tool sets with the help of the Hale CI Manager.

+ Enforce safety and sanitation regulations.

+ Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.

+ Directing workflow to meet production goals.

+ Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.

+ Participate in management meetings as needed.

+ Determine the best use of resources and people to maintain steady workflow.

+ Identify part shortages and communicate with the manager.

+ Monitor and enforce safety and quality standards.

+ Trouble shoot problems and drive to root cause solutions, this may require working with other departments including but not limited to engineering, planning, purchasing etc.

+ Responsible for accurate timekeeping and attendance tracking for personnel, including timely submission and compliance with organizational policies.

+ All other duties as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES


+ Knowledge of manufacturing methods and process improvement programs.

+ Strong leadership skills.

+ Good written and oral communication skills.

+ Ability to manage and supervise a team.

+ Basic Outlook and Excel experience.

+ Mechanical knowledge for basic tools and assembly.

+ Read and decipher blueprints.

+ Basic production knowledge and ability to coordinate people and resources.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


+ At least 1 year of experience leading or supporting production operations.

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Experience leading teams.

+ Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems.

+ Machining experience preferred.
