    Job Description:

    Supervisor: Equipment Service Manager

    Job Description: The Parts Runner is responsible for the timely pickup, delivery, and distribution of parts, supplies, and materials required to support the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment. This position plays a critical role in minimizing equipment downtime by ensuring technicians and field personnel receive the correct parts when needed.

    Essential functions and responsibilities:

    • Pick up and deliver parts, tools, and supplies between vendors, company facilities, and job sites.

    • Verify parts received against purchase orders and packing slips.

    • Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting parts safely.

    • Coordinate with parts, service, and operations personnel to prioritize deliveries.

    • Inspect delivered parts for damage and report discrepancies.

    • Keep company vehicles clean, organized, and properly maintained.

    • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

    • Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and team members.

    • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

    • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill

    • Additional tasks as needed to enhance the operations of the company

    Requirements:

    • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications; bilingual Spanish preferred

    • Ability to safely operate pickup trucks, trailers, forklifts, and warehouse equipment.

    • Support equipment uptime through efficient parts distribution.

    • Basic computer skills for inventory and delivery documentation.

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

    • Maintain timely and accurate deliveries.

    • Demonstrate safe work practices at all times.

    • Move around minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds

    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid Drivers License with acceptable driving record.

    Safety Policies and Practices: The employee in this job must be knowledgeable about and follow the company's safety policies and procedures as described in the company's safety manual.

    Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

    Experience:

    • Experience in construction, equipment rental, or heavy equipment industries preferred.

    • Knowledge of general mechanical layout of Heavy Construction Equipment, parts, and components preferred.

    • Familiarity with inventory management systems preferred.

    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities preferred.

    Physical Activity Level: Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.

    Manual Dexterity: Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. Ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.

    Working Conditions: Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.)

    Work Environment: The work environment/physical demands characteristics described here are representative of those the employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; and high and/or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
